How to Report a Home Fire Claim, Arrange Temporary Housing, and Advance Rebuilding in BC
Browse the insurance glossaryInitial Response and Evidence Preservation After a Fire
After a residential fire, you should preserve the facts of the loss: list items that are damaged, destroyed, or stolen, and keep photographs and detailed records, then contact your insurance representative as soon as possible.
Claim Review and Basis for Payment
When you file a claim, the insurance representative will review coverage based on the policy and the facts of the loss, and may arrange for an adjuster; temporary housing, rebuilding, and payment amounts are all determined by the specific policy, the facts of the loss, and the claim decision.
