Alberta TD Insurance Auto Claim
Browse the insurance glossaryI was rear-ended on October 31, and today my car is finally repaired and back in my hands.
I'm very satisfied with the entire repair process — 4.9 out of 5.
I had both the repairs and the rental done at the auto centre in Calgary NW.
The adjuster handling my claim on the repair side is absolutely wonderful.
I've met her in person at the auto centre.
My policy's loss of use limit is $5,000, so I wasn't worried even though the car was in the shop for a long time. We waited about a month for parts, and the actual repair took about three weeks. During the repair, the adjuster called to let me know the wrong parts had been ordered — aftermarket wouldn't work — so they needed to order OEM parts.
My adjuster basically responded to my emails or calls within 24 hours and sent me an automatic weekly update on the repair progress.
I have my own winter tires, and the adjuster also made sure the rental came equipped with winter tires. Luckily, Enterprise happened to have a rental with winter tires available.
The only slight downside was that the 2024 RAV4 Enterprise gave me had really poor winter tires, which made the car hard to drive — it was slippery and felt unstable.
As long as I keep my insurance with TD, any place where my car has been repaired will honour the workmanship warranty, which I think is pretty good. When the car was done, they washed it inside and out, and they even warmed it up for me before I picked it up (though they used my own gas to do it 😂).
I'm grateful to have had a great adjuster and that the repair process went fairly smoothly.
I hope I'll never need to use my auto insurance again — after all, I just want to stay safe and sound 🙏🙏.
I also know a lot of people online have had bad claim experiences with TD. I hope everyone who needs to use their insurance will have a good experience.
